Q&A: Court Appointed Counsel
Question:
How do i complain or replace a court appt. lawyer? One I have has never (in 5 mo.) returned a call, fax or an e;mail, has contacted me less than 6 times and each time it is to give me instructions.
To date he still has not read police reports, only charges what do i do?
Answer:
You can always retain private counsel. However, if you cannot afford an attorney, you can file a motion with the court and request new court appointed counsel. The court may or may not grant your request. By law, you are not entitled to the public defender of your choosing. Good luck.
