Suspect fled for over an hour and was ultimately shot by police as he sped towards a DPS officer who was on foot.  The DPS officer drew his gun and fired 5 shots as the suspect sped towards him. The suspect was wounded and crashed into a wall, which ended the case. 

In the state of Arizona, you can meet deadly force with deadly force in self-defense.  The suspect in this case is reported to have sped towards the officer who had no means of protection other than to fire shots as the suspect.
