Q&A: Probation and Mental Health Issues

Question:

Can a persons family have them admitted to a mental facilaty while serving probation without the probation officers approval?  this guys family is trying admitt him cause they want to be in controll of his money and life and the guy isnt even admittence material.
Answer:
Mental health issues are separate and apart from probation. If a medical professional determines that admittance is appropriate, then an individual can be institutionalized regardless of his or her probationer status.
